Car Images for Manifest Creator (NEW and under construction - 04-08-19)
'For those how might be interested in using Car Images in their manifest may come here to look at the current collection of car images that I have gathered for that purpose. I need to thank Duncan Cabassi and Enso Futabba for these images. Thank you.
Because there are a large number of images, I have created compressed ZIP files. I have gone one step further and created the self-extracting EXE file from those compressed files. This facilitates your ability to download and extract the files from the ZIP file without the need for additional software. Due to a limit of 10 MB for file size on this website provider, I have separated the files more by size that any other consideration. However, all files are in Road Name - Car Number sequence. So it should be very easy to find and select the file(s) you might be interested in. I have also added a view-able file for each of the download files that shows what Road Names - Car Numbers are in the corresponding EXE/ZIP file. So each of the files below may be download and/ or viewed. If you find images that you would like, you will need to download the entire file that contains the image If you see an ATSF car that you have, you will need to download the 'admx-atsf293328.exe' or the 'atsf-293241-atsf-crane_flat.exe' since ATSF cars may be found in both downloads. The Road Name - Car Number in the filename should help you determine which of the two files you would need.
Once downloaded you will run the just downloaded file(s). The actual files that are extracted need to be located in the JMRI/operations/csvImages folder. If this folder does not already exist, you will need to create it before extracting the images. You may then go in and delete any images that you do not need (or not). Also, if you have a car that is similar with the exception of the Car Number, once you have downloaded the file, you are free to change the Car Number (or the Road Name) of the filename if you like. This may not be a good idea depending on how your operators look for cars. NOTE: The Road Name and Car Number need to match the car as it is found in the JMRI Cars file.
The "naming convention" for these individual car files is road name-carnumber.jpg. Below is an example of the "A" file or cars.

A list of Car images in RoadName CarNumber sequence are available below. If you would like to add images please sent them to [email protected]. I have included a set of instructions as to how to create the images. It is a little out of date but provides the guidelines for creating images. If you are not into image management on the Computer but would like to contribute your images, please do so. Send them to [email protected] and thank you for any and all contributions! I will then modify them to meet the MC/LLC requirements.

Because the filenames are so long, I think I prefer the last format with four across. Thoughts?
